Turkish Turkic axe Tabar
Gold decorated surfaces
very rare typeThis wonderful example is 59cms long, 15.5cms from cutting edge to hammer face, is 3.5cms thick and has a cutting edge of 12cms.
The axe head is fully decorated in gold floral and geometric designs to all surfaces. It is fitted with an iron collar above and below the head and carries another cap to the base of the haft.
Between these fittings is an iron support/grip bar with brass tack fittings. All surfaces of the iron fittings are decorated in a similar manner to the axe head.
The haft is a hard wood construction covered in a fine ‘cloth’? covering. There is a small hole through the haft approx 2/3rds of the way along the the haft.
A very fine well preserved Turkic axe of very good quality and of a form rarely seen.Source & Copyright: Swords & Antique Weapons

theladysif started following you
Spiffy! Er. Lady Sif, how lovely to see you some more. Again. Hi.
-she blinks a few times, confused- Um, hello. ‘tis very nice to… meet you? Have we met before?
…Sort of. I know a version or two of you. Lady Sif, Badass warrior of Asgard. Welcome to Midgard! Call me Chimera.
Ah, yes! That makes sense. I’ve met quite a few other versions of myself. -grins- Well thank you, Chimera. Do you hail from Midgard, then?
…Not exactly? I always get confused when you call it “Midgard”. Do you mean this spinning sphere of mud and water they like to call Earth or are you referring to this, ah, universe. No to the first, yes to the second.
… -nods- Alright… where are you from, then? If I may ask.
Different planet, ‘bout a month that-a-way if you don’t stop for the niceties like, oh, food, water, gas to breathe, all that fun stuff. They -really- need to improve the travel systems in this neck of the universe if they want to get out and about.
… -nods again- I see. What’s the quickest way to get to and from, then? How did you?
